Monetizing Your Video Content Using Cincopa
Cincopa allows you to add VAST (Video Ad Serving Template) which displays pre, mid and post ads on your Cincopa Video (Embedded using a Player, Playlist, and Channels).
VAST ads to be added to Cincopa Video that either served by an ad server such as Google Adsense or Adbutler, or video ads can be manually added to the hosted videos on Cincopa using Cincopa’s manually ad insertion.
Cincopa manual video ad insertion is incredibly useful to promote your own brand or monetizing with sponsored content on your videos.
Add Video Ads with VAST (Pre, Mid & Post Roll VAST Ads)
VAST (Video Ad Serving Template) is a specification released by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) that sets a standard for communication requirements between ad servers and video players. It is a data structure declared using XML.
VAST video ads is a great option that lets you promote both your own and third-party video content in your videos across all platforms.
You can take full control over ads appearance, placement, performance, and the number of impressions they get. If you own a solid video network or large video portal, you can easily promote your own content with VAST ads.
You can place catchy ad videos in pre-roll, mid-roll or post-roll.
Optionally, you can allow viewers to skip ads after a few seconds or keep them watching the full ad — the choice is yours.
Serving Ads To Cincopa’s Video Player
Cincopa’s customizable video player works with the standard VAST 2.0 and 3.0 ad serving format.
To serve ads on your videos you’ll need a video ad serving platform. You can decide whether to serve ads from your own inventory or connect to external inventories.
We recommend Google’s Adsense for website driving over 500k visitors\month.
Adbutler, is a great video ad serving platform for sites driving lower-traffic. Adbutler does not have minimum monthly visits restrictions like Google’s Adsense.
Cincopa offers two types of Video Monetization on your content:
- Pre/Post Roll Video – Display a video intro/outro or Video Ad before/after your main content. (“manual ad-insertion”)
- VAST Video Ads – Deliver pre/mid/post-roll ads to monetize your video content with VAST ads.
Configuring Your VAST Tags on Video Galleries
To insert VAST Video Ads in your video content follow these steps:
1. Click on Galleries -> click on Customize Galleries icon in the gallery where you wish to add VAST Video Ads
2. On the left side of your screen, scroll down to Monetization -> click on VAST Video Ads
3. Now insert a VAST XML URL in the field and click on Done.
Once the changes are saved you will see the VAST ads displayed Pre/Mid/Post of your video content as mentioned in the XML file.
