1. Can I upload Youtube video using “upload from URL”?

Due to recent change in Youtube, “upload from youtube URL” feature is currently not supported.

You are welcome to use “Upload Video” feature to add your video to the website.

Download from URL will work as long as the URL is a direct video file URL.

2. Does Cincopa support HD video?

Yes, Cincopa will play the video in the highest quality possible for the device.

3. How can I add a video from Vimeo without uploading it to Cincopa?

You will need to add any content you want to present in a Cincopa template to your Cincopa account. For items already on the web, you can upload the video via upload option #3 and choosing the Upload via URL.

4. Can I add captions to my videos?

Select the gallery of that video and choose Text & Reorder.

Yes. Go to your My Galleries page, select the gallery of that video that you want to caption and choose Text & Reorder.

5. Do you support ads in videos?

We do not support any of the ad engines. If you want to add an ad you would have to upload it as part of the gallery.

6. Do you support live streaming?

Yes we do support live streaming, we support streaming, progressive download and pseudo streaming. You don’t need to do anything special to get this stream – it is done automatically by Cincopa.

7. Do you have an HD video option for embedding videos into WordPress?

We don’t support HD quality yet. For better video quality, you can try following:

  • Use the most raw format that you have. Cincopa will encode your video to support many devices, therefore it is better not to encode the video yourself and to use it as you got it from the camera or editing software.
  • Video quality is slightly better when you upload the video to your CloudDrive vs. using the media agent to upload.

8. Can I upload .swf files?

Currently, Cincopa does not support swf files because swf is not supported on mobiles like iPhones and we can’t fall back to java script like we do with the rest of the flash players.

9. Is there a video play count feature available?

We offer statistics per gallery, this info is located in the My Galleries page.

For each gallery the total views and domains are presented in a weekly/monthly/all time graph.

We also provide general storage and traffic usage in the My Account page.

10. What is the best format to use when uploading videos to get a sharp playback?

If you are producing your videos then try to give it to Cincopa before any major encoding to avoid encoding-decoding-encoding-decoding scenario.

FLV as a source usually renders poor quality.

You can create a regular page and use the smooth gallery template with the photos (put the actual video in the smooth gallery to get the photo) of each episode and some text, and link each photo to a post that will contain the actual video.

12. The plug-in streams video pretty slowly, even pausing at times. Any suggestions to improve playback?

Change the buffer length. The default is 1 second.

13. If I upload videos to my Cincopa library with the same name, but in several different formats, will my Cincopa library be able to send the correct file to the user device wanting to access the video?

You only need to upload the original video in whatever format it is in (avi, mov, divx etc) and Cincopa will transcode it to flv and 3gp to cover both Flash players and smart phones.

14. Does Cincopa support any media type for videos? What format Does Cincopa render the video in when my end users are viewing it in a web browser? In order to render the videos on the client side, do I have to make sure that the end-user has the appropriate?

Cincopa will convert your video to flv and 3gp to make sure that your video will work on both flash web players and smart phones.

Quicktime (mov) is supported as an input but will render flv or h.263 as an output, so your end-users will not need to install Quicktime plugin.

15. My video is not playing what can I do ?

  • Did the upload itself finished successfully? – if not try to upload again
  • Have you uploaded one of supported formats?
  • Were you using a software to create this video (as opposed to shoot it with video camera) like Apple’s iMovie? – some software all add a non standard information to the video, in this case try to export the video without those parameter and choose a standard codec

If your video still doesn’t work send us a link to your page or the ID of your gallery and we will try to see what is wrong.

16. What video formats and codecs do you support ?

All major video formats and codecs are supported, here are the major formats and codecs :

  • avi
  • mov
  • wmv
  • mp4 / m4a / f4a / f4b / f4v / f4p
  • m2ts / mts
  • vob
  • mkv
  • rmvb
  • m1v
  • qt
  • div / divx
  • dv
  • 3gp / 3gpp / 3g2
  • mpg / mpeg / mpe
  • flv

There is no preferred format as we do support many of them. To get a better video quality try to follow those two simple rules :

  • Use the most raw format that you have – Cincopa will encode your video to support many devices, therefore it is better not to encode the video yourself and to use it as you got it from the camera or editing software.
  • Video quality is slightly better when you upload the video to your CloudDrive vs. using the media agent to upload.
